What an epic day!

28. February 2008 schwarty

It was cloudy and foggy in the morning, and looking real grey.  Then the cat broke through the cloud band and up into the blue sky and sunshine.

Luckily the guys from SPY were in the cat with a box of new goggle lenses to try out in the sun.

Did I mention that there was 20cm new snow out there?  How about no wind?

We were on our second run by 9:30 am today.  This was also a new record for getting out skiing early in the morning and up skiing the same time as anyone who went

to the resort would be.   The only thing is, we were not on a chairlift!   yeeeeeehaaaaaaa

By 12:00 we were at 12000 Vertical Feet, and counting.  They said they wanted to go fast and rider hard, so we did.  I even saw a couple guys having a nap in the cat

on the way back up the hill.

2:15 pm, and time for one last hard charge down a 3000 vertical foot run, just to make sure the boys had ridden all they could ride we tried to do it without stopping.

The end of day total.......18000 feet.  A new record for us, and another "best day ever" for the rest of the crew.

All in a days work here at Powder Mountain.

18000 Feet in one day a new record!

28. February 2008 kenach

Man it was like heliskiing today. A few runs down Edgeworths and a few more long runs and boom 18,000 vertical feet in one day. A new record. Don Schwartz and his crew are now the record holders. Man I knew I should have jumped in that empty seat.  Just to make it worse... It was sunny and fresh pow. about 25 cms.
