Sunshine, Showcase and Westbeach. What a Day

13. February 2008 kenach

What a day to have a cat full of rippers. Showcase and Westbeach Snowboard Shops had sales contest where the winners got a day of catskiing with us. What a day to pick to go. Perfect shred depth pow all over Tricouni and sunshine. We blazed down Poor Rabbits into Homestarrunner and all the runs like Trogdor and The Cheat and Coach Z, then we hit runs on the front and we all hauled ass top to bottom. Nothing like a wicked crew to pack in the runs. We nailed 13 runs in the sun and had so much fun hitting Park and Huck. While we waited for the cat we heckled some pros on the B Movie Cliffs as call them, or Hollywood cliffs as they call them, Or actually Holly Wouldn't cliffs as one of the girls on the top of the cliff was stalled forever making up her mind if she was going to jump it or not. "Grab rail and I can get you 7 boards and a travel budget" to quote Dano Pendygrasse.  I found a new hip that is now my favorite jump in the whole ski area. Dave the manager of Westbeach in Whistler and I found it and it was such a sweet hip, perfect pop and great drop away landing. The second time we hit it the pop was so perfect we got launched up into a tree. To quote Jurrasic Five... That tree's not a champion it's going to die tonight. Nah, not that quick but it just made it onto the summer grooming list for this summer. Or maybe Friday's grooming list. Graeme Turner was slaying it in true GT style. He's going to have his stag with us in the next month or so, so that should be interesting. Sounds like my kind of stag. Pow. Zoltan the manager of Westbeach in Van was hitting every hip and wave in sight. I love the Tricouni skatepark. Dee and Allison nailed a good line through the trees and could be heard laughing all the way down. Team NZ, Amy and Mike had their best days ever. Man, I even had one of my top three days ever up at Powder Mountain. Nothing like riding with your best friend Don Schwartz as the guide, a cat full of bangers and hearing... "See you at the bottom. It's fall line to the cat, pick your partner and see you there", to let you know you are going to have a good time. It might have been that hip though... it sure was sweet. I can't wait till Friday when I go up again.  Look out hip, here I come.  Tree - Start saying goodbye to your friends, your time is going to come. Get your crew together and beat our 13 runs.
