Man o' Man is it snowing!

7. February 2008 kenach

God, I love this place! We've gotten over 100 cm's in the last three days. I was up yesterday with Tom and Susana, who design and build all the prototype AK stuff for Burton, and Andrew Birke who is the product manager with Burton for AK. Also with us were Carol Shpak and Kevin Spence from Vancouver as well as Jeff Parriott from Wisconsin. Jumping in the cat were Juno award winning guitarist Les Quitzau (www.lesterq.com) who has done a bunch of the music on our quickie videos and Flynn Seddon from Kelowna another old friend from Kelowna. Ian Findlay from Glasgow rounded out the group. What a day. 35 fresh on top of yesterdays 30. It was such a great day. Face shots on every turn whether you meant to or not. Carol laid down first tracks on a bunch of runs and so did Jeff and Ian. Man, guys from Glasgow and Wisconsin could ski. Ther must be new powder dendex or something in Scotland. So cool to see people smile harder than they knew they could smile. It was like their heads broke in half. The trees were so great. Big blower lines through perfect spaced trees. It was like "Enter The Dragon" - Do not look, feel! Every run was better than the last one. Carol and Kevin were so stoked they called the office in between runs and booked the last two seats for today. The funniest part was I was going to go up again today but they got the last seat. They were so nice I couldn't even be bummed. Holy, what a day today has been. Don, the lead guide set the first track in from the highway to the base. It snowed so much overnight that the snow on the access road was even with his headlights in his Silverado. With chains on, he had to make 4 runs at it to get to the base lodge. So I think it's safe to say we have way over a 100 in the last three days. We brought the cats down to the highway and everyone went up and it must just be epic. Damn, I hate missing days like this. Oh well tomorrow is going to be even better... it's still snowing, too bad it's my wife Michelle's turn to go up.

Check the photos on the site to see how good it was yesterday.

Oakley Posters in Retail Shops Worldwide

7. February 2008 kenach

Last winter we had Gretchen Bleiler, Dustin Craven, JJ Thomas and a pile of other Oakley pro riders and their team manager Derek Heidt, up with us shooting promo shots for this winter. They hit some great days and had a blast. The posters are out now in every shop worldwide that sells Oakley goggles or clothing. The Powder Mountain Cat is promnent in one and Gretchen's poster has our name on it. If our giveaway poster doesn't make it bad enough to be away from here, hit up Oakley and maybe they'll send you one. No guarantee but you never know till you try.

So go to your favorite shop and check out the posters and pick up some goggles or clothes if you need it. The Whistler lens is so great for snowy days it's mental.
